I clicked "add jail" and the box kept downloadijng freenas.standard for a long time, and eventually failed with the rather useless "Sorry an error occurred"
FreeNAS 9.3 on an HP N54L

A: "Sorry, an error occurred" is impolite, an affront. Please add a description of the error!

B: This is a fresh install from the latest FreeNAS 9.3. I clicked "add jail", entered a name "peter" and the box kept chugging forever, like 4-8 hours, downloading Freenas.standard.... and then just failed with the very inappropriate "error message", "Sorry, an error occured"
[Reminds me of the olden days of arrogant AT&T Sys Vr4... In SysV you could get error messages like "This didn't work. Please find a knowledgable person to talk to.")

Sir, we'll need to have more details. What do you have inside the HP N54L? What does your pool look like? What did you set for your "jail root" in the jails configuration?

Jail root = /mnt/Tank/Jails

The N54L has 16GB of ECC memory, 5 WD Red NAS disks of 4TB, a single zpool of entire disks in RaidZ2

No clue. I'm having a different problem with jail templates being totally borked. :P

Turns out a remark on the side somewhere else clued me in; I deleted all jails that were there since 9.2, including all storage for jails.

Then adding a standard jail went very well, no glitches anywhere.

Still, the error m,essage should have said something about what made the system see there was a problem.
