Stable Email server for FreeNas

Does anybody have a suggestion for a stable alternative to MS Exchange Server that can run on FreeNas?

What do you need it o do?

manage multiple incoming mail to multiple users, including calendars and contact lists.

I just googled FreeBSD email server and found this: http://www.purplehat.org/?page_id=4. Its based on postfix

Thank you, i will look into it. My initial investigations mostly lead to untested mail server installations on FreeNas with limited or no adequate support and/or installation procedures.

I thought perhaps there was a mail server install that has successfully tested and working on FreeNas.

Well, FreeNAS is a storage platform so there aren't a lot of professional shops running full blown "email" servers on there storage servers. You will have to adapt any guides you find to fit into a jail. FreeNAS does not support modifying the base OS. Its based on FreeBSD but should be thought of as an appliance.
