I have a gateway server acting as a firewall and gateway server behind my internet modem. I have a freenas server as well. The gateway handles the ssl for the network, so my freenas server is reachable at nas.domain.com. The reverse proxy is set up through my gateway on a separate machine. SSL works great for everything else (nextcloud, plex, mail, etc) and mostly works for freenas but the new UI will not load and services menu will not load, I traced it down to it not liking the SSL. I can add a cert on the freenas server and tell it to use that but then I cant use the cert I have on my gateway. Any way around this? I have tested with nas.domain.com and using the direct ip and it works using the IP just not the domain I have it set up on.

FreeNAS is not designed to be Internet facing at all. As far as I know, it's not tested against common and known exploits. Should you wish to access the FreeNAS UI, your best method is to use OpenVPN or a SSH tunnel.
