Hi All,
I am very new to FreeNAS and FreeBSD, but enjoying my experience, especially as in only a couple of days, have setup a server using some spare hardware (not ideal but works well) including adding the Plex and Emby servers.
I am experimenting with BSD, by setting up a test Jail, linked to a volume dataset with the intention of adding new BSD packages and learning about BSD.
As a test, I tried installing Nano once logged into the testjail/shell with "jexec testjail tcsh" , but when I do "pkg install nano" I get:
pkg: http://pkg.FreeBSD.org/freebsd:9:x86:64/latest/All/nano-2.2.6.txz: Not found
Same with other packages. On looking in the repo, I see a nano-2.4.3.txz version, eveything is out of date.
I had previously done a "pkg update; pkg upgrade" but it said eveything was up to date.
What can I do to remedy this?
PS: As my hardware is a bit on the old side, I had to use FreeNAS 9.2.1.19
