Hi guys, I'm new here and already have some questions :) I've read the documentation but couldn't find information that I need. So I thought that maybe you can help me. So my questions is, does Freenas is able to handle:

Number of iSCSI target connections - we need a minimum of 32.
Number of iSCSI LUN connections - we need a minimum of 256.
Number of CIFS/AFP/FTP connections - we need a minimum of 2048.
Number of concurrent connections - we need a minimum of 512
Number of user groups - we need a minimum of 256
Share encryption - AES 256bit

As far as I'm aware it should be able to handle those numbers. What is your workload? Looks like you'll need some beefy hardware.

It's possible to encrypt the pool, but it's dangerous. It's really easy to lock yourself out. I'm not saying you shouldn't use it, but you really need to understand how it works and what can go wrong before using it.

Thanks for your reply Sakuru. We will try to implement FreeNAS for one of our Customers, but at this moment I'm not 100% sure what hardware will be used for this project (I think Huawei's FusionServers maybe). As for the pool encryption I'm aware of the danger. But before we will (hopefully) implement it, I'm going to spend some time to understand how it all works.
