Hi Guys,
I haev a FreeNas 0.7.2 with a Software RAID 5 which crushed.
I am trying to recover the data using R-STUDIO but i need few parameters to handle that.
What are the default parameters of the Software RAID 5?
i know that the strip size is 128K but i don't know the rest, like
What is the parity direction, left or right, and dynamic or standard?
Start RAID header on start of disk, end of disk etc.

Would love to get these parameters if someone have them.

Cheers,
Oded

Forgot to mention it is a UFS GEOM which is the default under the 0.7.2 version of FreeNas

Fair enough, but it doesn't matter to me, at this stage if someone knows these parameters in FreeNas 8.x i would love to get them and try them out.

Thanks

I don't think the software RAID 5 with UFS is included in FreeNAS 8 anymore. So I'm not sure anyone here will have that info.

R-Studio is a pretty good program. I've used it for data recovery a few times. I haven't had very good luck with it using software RAIDs however. There's too many variables to consider usually.
