I changed the character set in the CIFS settings and quite suddenly lost all access to CIFS shares. The following error is flooding my /var/log/messages:

Mar 23 10:23:13 motorhead smbd[13929]: STATUS=daemon 'smbd' finished starting up and ready to serve connectionsgss_accept_sec_context failed with [ Miscellaneous failure (see text): Failed to find cifs/Motorhead.company.com@COMPANY.COM(kvno 34) in keytab MEMORY:cifs_srv_keytab (aes256-cts-hmac-sha1-96)]

Help?

I have no clear explanation of what fixed the problem. I panicked. I rebooted. That didn't fix it. I removed all CIFS shares. That seemed to fix it as the messages flood stopped. I then re-pushed the account username and password for AD. The flood started again. I rebooted again. No help. I increased logging on CIFS and saw a message about username not being able to authenticate. I RDP to another machine as that user. No problem. Look back on FreeNAS logs and the flood has stopped. Hmmm? I start adding shares and they all just seem to start working again. Man that sucked.
