I just saw this, and do not know if this is related to my recently post: "Issue with Apps on Cobia TrueNAS-SCALE-23.10.2"

My shares looks like this:

MEDiA$
/mnt/MEDiA

PlexPass$
/mnt/MEDiA/PlexPass

PlexPass
/mnt/MEDiA/PlexPass/Transcode

The message provided seems to be related to an issue with SMB share configuration in a Cobia TrueNAS-SCALE-23.10.2 system. Here's a summary of the problem:
  • There is a discrepancy in the Access Control List (ACL) type between the main mount points and the sub-mount points within the SMB shares.
  • The SMB shares are mounted at different locations within the file system, some of which are NFSv4 type and others are POSIX type.
  • This discrepancy in ACL types may affect the stability of the SMB service.
The problem indicates a lack of consistency in the configuration of SMB shares concerning sub-mount points within the file system. Specifically, the discrepancy refers to the ACL type between the primary and secondary mount points, which can cause stability issues with the SMB service.

try this
  1. Verify Share Configuration: Examine the configuration of your SMB shares in TrueNAS to identify discrepancies in ACLs between the main and sub-mount points.
  2. Standardize ACL Types: Ensure that all mount points within the SMB shares are configured with the same type of access control. You can choose to use either NFSv4 ACLs or POSIX ACLs, but it's important that all mount points share the same type.
  3. Update Configuration: Modify the SMB share configuration in TrueNAS to ensure that all mount points share the same type of ACL. This may involve modifying mount settings and associated ACLs in the filesystem.
  4. Restart Services: Once you've made the changes, restart the SMB services in TrueNAS to apply the settings.
  5. Test Service Stability: After restarting the services, perform tests to verify that the SMB shares function correctly and that there are no stability issues.
