Everything was working well for a couple of years sharing files to my Windows systems, till upgrading from 11.1 U4 to 11.1 U5 the USB boot stick failed. Now, even with a new USB stick and clean installs of either U4 or U5 I get the following error when trying to start the SMB service.

Any advice and suggestions would be useful, thanks.

DL, Thanks for responding.
I have not been able to fully resolve this, but using the share with root, rather than either nobody or a specifically created User and Group as the owner of the share did enable the SMB Service to start. Not ideal, but has me up and running. I can let it run like this till 11.2 and then if I still cannot set other permissions for the share will dig inot it more. However soemthing is not right if whatever I have broken in the settings results in this type of failure rather than a more elegant error message.
