I'm running FreeNAS-9.2.1.7-RELEASE-x64 (fdbe9a0) on an Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU X3470 @ 2.93GHz with 16GB of ECC RAM. I have two Crucial SSDs in a mirror.

I got two emails from the machine with the following information:
---
Email One:
The following warning/error was logged by the smartd daemon:
Device: /dev/ada0, 1 Currently unreadable (pending) sectors
Device info:
Crucial_CT960M500SSD1, S/N:14240C513F6F, WWN:5-00a075-10c513f6f, FW:MU05, 960 GB

Email Two:
The following warning/error was logged by the smartd daemon:
Device: /dev/ada1, 1 Currently unreadable (pending) sectors
Device info:
Crucial_CT960M500SSD1, S/N:14240C513F81, WWN:5-00a075-10c513f81, FW:MU05, 960 GB
---
These emails were both generated six minutes after the scheduled beginning of a scrub.

However, when I view the SMART data from the CLI, I see this:

[root@tcdocs] ~# smartctl -a /dev/ada0
smartctl 6.2 2013-07-26 r3841 [FreeBSD 9.2-RELEASE-p10 amd64] (local build)

I don't see anything regarding unreadable sectors. I also find it odd that both drives generated the same error at the same time. What does this mean? It seems from everything I know about the SMART data (which admittedly isn't much), the drives seem fine. If anyone would like to chime in, I'm all ears. Thanks in advance.

Well, "unknown attribute" 174 shows a non-zero value. It could be that the drive remapped it as a result of the scrub and that 174 indicates some kind of remapping. Other than that, I have zero clue. You'd have to ask Crucial for more info unfortunately. :(

I believe CrystalDiskInfo can decode those unknown attributes. If possible, try reading the SMART data with it on a PC.

Crystaldiskinfo kind of scares me because I've found several occasions where it was totally wrong about "unknown attributes". Anything listed as an "unknown attribute" should only be "interpreted" by the manufacturer of the disk.
