Hi,

I know several people have already mentioned such issue.

I have quite often the message :
freenas smartd[2524]: Device: /dev/ada2, 216 Currently unreadable (pending) sectors

Here is what I did.
smartctl -t long /dev/ada2
Then, once done
smartctl -a /dev/ada2

It seems the long test didn't return any errors.
But when I run

The confusion is the long test doesn't report any issue.
Any forum I checked were mentionning issues reported by the long test but in my case, I have nothing...

The confusion is the long test doesn't report any issue.
Potentially bad sectors awaiting reallocation do not imply a SMART test failure. They do imply a potentially flaky drive, which you might consider replacing anyway.
