signin problem

I am in the process of setting up my first home server. I have no problem signing in on network or remote with "root", however i cannot login with any users I created. I know I am missing something simple. Thanks in advance for any help.

Signin to the FreeNAS UI itself or to a share?

ui itself from a pc on the network or over the net with a ip address.

Only the root user is supported at this time.

In case it's not clear, @dlavigne's answer above was not a rhetorical question. Only the root user can access the FreeNAS user interface (old or new). Your created users will be able to access shares if permissions are appropriately set for them, but not the UI.

Sorry, I should have responded back. After I got his answer, i went back and reread the setup proceedures and will be fixing the issue. I want to thank both of you for helping a new user.
