So everything was working fine. Then I tried to install ldap authentication and effed that up.

So I removed authentication (I think) and now when I try to login with my local account to either any of the shares I have, I get an error that the share doesn't exist.

For example:

Can anyone suggest anything? Where to troubleshoot? What I might have screwed up?

Mac?

Is the wrong authentication still saved in your Keychain?

doh! It would help if I posted a solution wouldn't it. Sorry about that guys.

Setting ldap reset a number of permission and groups. Readjusting those fixed the issue. It was one of those situations where futzing with LDAP for 3 hours and getting nowhere, your brain stops logical troubleshooting steps. The error message, "share doesn't exist" and the only /var/log/messages out put was an immediate logout for the user wasn't helping. Eventually, I tried with the same creds for the cifs/samba share and voila, "you don't have permissions for the share, blah, blah blah".

Thanks for the help though.
