Hello,

I currently want to build up a small server for my private data. I have an existing case (Chenbro RM23612) with 3 passive SFF-8643 connectors.
I bought a mainboard (Supermicro X11SPi-TF) and have two Adapters SFF-8643 to 4xSATA (DELOCK 83393). Unfortunately the drives aren't recognized. When connecting the drive directly via SATA-Kabel it works.
While reading around I figured out, that the DELOCK 83393 is described for SFF-8643 on the controller to 4xSATA-drives. In my case it would be the other way round. But I didn't found an adapter which describes it the other way. Is there a difference? Does someone know a working adapter?

Thank you and best,
Johannes

Yes indeed there is a difference. No, there is no easy way of telling them apart.

Search for reverse breakout cables to find what you need.

Thank you! "Reverse" was the word I was looking for. I figured out that the DELOCK 83322 is the one I need.
