Seeking Information

I found a deal on a 7047GR-TRF Supermicro GPU server, I am not a computer guy so I do not know exactly what it is used for but as a hobby I tinker around. Would this be a box worth looking into for a FreeNAS server, I did notice it has ECC ram so that is what sparked my interest.

Those systems are used for some kinds of virtualization or high end computational modeling. It would depend on exact features of the system, but likely it is not suitable without significant conversion to include disposing of the GPU / compute cards.
