I found a 24 port PCIe SATA controller on Amazon that looks interesting.

Anyone used something like this with TrueNAS?

The bottom line is that you want to use a SAS HBA instead. Please also have a look at "SAS and SATA" and "Don't use RAID" in the recommended readings in my signature. The forum has a ton of threads on this topic as well.

While I haven't seen that particular card, I would say that's sort of interesting.

Please do review

But having said that, it looks like the construction of the card is six independent ASM1064 controllers and some sort of bridge. If they're legit non-knockoff ASM1064, this might actually work just fine. On the other hand, there's a nontrivial risk that there could be a driver limit to the number of SATA AHCI are supported, so there could be risks here especially if you tried to add two or three of these to a system.
