SAS2 discs not visible RANDOMLY - upgrade or unsupported drives?

Config in my signature, been working for years. After upgrade following happens. FreeNAS boots, but no disks visible. I boot from SATA DOM so it comes from Motherboard. But all of the drives is on SAS2 backplane. I get all of the warnings about datasets missing, etc.

It's not always the case. It may take full shutdown and start up and disks appear and pools registered/found by FreeNAS. But most of the time they are not.

Any suggestion on what to look for?

Here is more information, not sure if it's related, but maybe.
I also recently installed 2x new

22TB WD Red Pro NAS

Could it be that SAS2 backplane doesn't like them?
Here is the story.. Installed them. Started to go through burn-in process (takes FOREVER)
Then, system experienced power off shutdown (don't ask..) in a middle of burn in (step 5)
I restarted burn-in process
On step 3 there was bunch of error on drives popping up
Then GUI fell off (couldn't login - forgot what the error was). No SSH either. But shares worked.
I rebooted few times to get my drives visible (see original post) - so now I see all except for those 2x 22TB drives.

Is it known for those newer big drives to not play with SAS2?
