Samba 4.11 and higher

Hi All,

Is TrueOS Core 12.x the first version with Samba 4.11 and higher?

For some who may have legacy Windows servers are they capped at 11.3? I feel there should be a samba table to show what versions of FreeNAS and TrueNAS have what versions of Samba.

I'm still running the latest 11.3 and it reports samba 4.10.18.

What did 4.11 change that makes you worried?

We have a legacy AD, that is based on 2003 at a site that we need to migrate data, it has some UNIX machines running old SAMBA so we cannot get too new as things just break. The FreeNAS filer is AD joined11.3-U5 is still at 4.10.18 so it works for now. I hope to have this one site moved in the next couple of months.

TrueNAS core is on Samba 4.12. TrueNAS scale is currently on 4.13, and will move to 4.14-RC1 by the end of the month (probably).
