rsync config file resets rsyncd.conf

not sure if this is a bug, but when i stop start the rsync service the rsyncd.conf file gets reset. is this a normal operation?

Are you manually editing your rsyncd.conf file?

yes. it is fine when i do it from the gui,

From the DOCUMENTATION:

NOTE: it is important to use the GUI (or the console) for all configuration changes. FreeNAS® uses a configuration database to store its settings. While you can use the command line to modify your configuration, changes made at the command line are not written to the configuration database. This means that any changes made at the command line will not persist after a reboot and will be overwritten by the values in the configuration database during an upgrade.

Searching the forums would yield you MANY results that will tell you the FreeNAS system is read-only and manually editing the normal config files will not provide the results you think they will.
