Hi,

I have recently updated to the most stable 9.3 STABLE branch, and since then my boot volume has been giving me issues. I run off a SDD. The error message is:

CRITICAL: The boot volume state is ONLINE: One or more devices has experienced an error resulting in data corruption. Applications may be affected.

I have searched the forum and it seems most people have been experiencing this when running freenas off a USB. 'zpool status -v' doesn't show any errors. I was going to re-install freenas. Is there a way to backup my jail/ plugins and any data I have on that drive easily?

Cheers.

I'm no expert, but wouldn't it be prudent to investigate whether the drive is failing, as opposed to re-installing on a questionable drive?

What does smartctl -a /dev/{insert proper device name - ada0, da1, whatever} report for that device?

Only you can tell us what's on your SSD. Do you have jails on it? What about the system dataset? Is it on the SSD?
