Replication to local storage - Best/any approach?

I'm adding a pool to be used for local backups so I'm starting to look into how to set up the replication task. I'm surprised that I can't find out how to configure this, so I'm coming here. I've got replication working between 2 different systems. I just can't figure out how to replicate locally.

What is the best approach to create a periodic replication task to a target on the local device?

I have replication to local usb attached drive to test it. Just put localhost in remote host name. Use localhost key in remote host key and it should work. If you need any help, just ask, I'll try to guide you. ;)

It's one of those completely unintuitive things that is completely obvious in retrospect.

You know, I thought about using localhost, and then said, nah, that's too complicated/weird.
