Hi,
I currently operate 2 Truenas servers with both 1 Petabyte of storage. One is used as active and the other one is just a mirror.
I want to make sure I get the most efficient workflow to replicate onto the mirror, as it will take weeks to do the initial replication (500TB).
What I did so far:
- Manual snapshot on the "active" server
- Created a one time replication task to replicate this snapshot onto the mirror
It's currently transferring (about 20TB a day).
My question is how should I setup the periodic snapshots and replication task after this first snapshot is replicated? I want that every day it only increment and make sure it doesn't replicate from scratch? There should between 1-10TB of changes every day.
Also I don't want to have to keep snapshots for too long as they will eat up space.
Thank you very much,
Octave
