I have two FreeNAS systems. Intel-NAS is a RAIDZ-2 with 4-5TB drives and Lian-NAS is a RAIDZ-2 with 7-3TB drives. I use Lian-NAS as a backup of Intel-NAS. Intel-NAS has a data set /tank/Intel-Server and /tank/Intel-FNTimeMachine. I had set up a replication task using the Web-GUI where I replicated the entire Intel-NAS on the Lion-NAS at /tank/Intel-NAS-Backup and this was working fine. I could connect my Mac to the Lian-NAS and browse the backup director tree.
Then my Intel-NAS had a hardware failure and I ended up replacing all but the disks. All was fine and I decided to upgrade the to FreeNAS-11-STABLE and redo the backups starting from scratch. Something has changed and after the replication finished I could tell that some 6TB of data had transferred because the Lian system shows the data is used on the Lian tank but I don't see any directory tree below the Intel-Backup data set. I researched the problem some and tried turning off the read-only status but I really don't know what I am doing and I had tried chmod-ing the data set and a few things so I might of broken something. Could someone describe how to do this starting from scratch?
Thanks Kurt
