We have a lot of data (20+ TB) and are attempting to replicate to our offsite FreeNAS box that we have brought into the office and attached to the same 10Gb network as our office FreeNAS machine for the initial replication. We are finding that the max bandwidth we can get is approximately 300Mb/s.

We have tried connecting the 2 machines through our 10Gb switch as well as a direct connection between the 2 machines. The replication still runs at ~300Mb/s.

Do you have any suggestions to improve the transfer rate or is replication operating as designed? Your ideas are appreciated!

Try disabling encryption on the replication transfer. If you want to max out the link you can disable compression as well. I can saturate my 1g connection this way.
