Replacing HDD and wiping data

Was hoping to get any tips or comments before I attempt. It seems simple, but thats usually when there are issues.

So I read the documentation on the freenas website. Pretty self explanatory as far as replacing the drive goes.

My question is if I wipe the drive prior to taking it out, will it affect my data or resilvering?

As long as the drive is no longer part of the pool, no, it won't affect the pool.

However, this is the kind of thing you want to do with any important disks disconnected, to avoid accidentally erasing them ;)
