I backed up my TrueNAS-12.0-U7 system, and then removed all four 4TB drives (these old drives are now my second backup). I installed all new never used/formatted 6TB drives. Now TrueNAS boots up fine, gives me a dashboard and control of system - but I am unclear on where to go next.

The name of my old pool 'marge' shows up but the status is offline. I think what I planned to do was add the four new drives to pool 'marge' and then restore my data from the backup. But now I think I might need to disconnect the offline pool 'marge', and create a new pool marge. Then I'll probably need to recreate the SMB shares and folders ...

Should I proceed with disconnecting marge(System Dataset Pool) and then create a new pool named marge?

Put your server back as it was.
Export the pool (with no wiping!)
Remove the old drives and install the new drives.
Create the new pool and restore from your backup.
