Hi all,

I recently changed my TrueNas over from DHCP to static. I did it all from the console, not the web interface.

I have now noticed that my DNS nameservers are duplicated in the Network Summary in the web UI. I have three DNS servers specified and each one is showing up twice.

Using the web UI, I deleted the nameserver references. Now in the Network Summary, all three are still there but now not being duplicated.

Running cat /etc/rosolv.conf outputs:

Code:
# Generated by resolvconf
search internal.domain.com
nameserver 192.168.10.251
nameserver 192.168.10.252
nameserver 192.168.10.1

Where is it getting these addresses from? I know I am not supposed to edit this file directly. So how can I remove them?

I have also been through the DNS setup in the console and made sure the DNS addresses are removed using that method too but they still persist in this file and in the web UI in Network Summary.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

FS

What happens when you remove them in the UI? Network - Global Configuration.

With DNS addresses added in the web UI, I see this.

And DHCP turned off for all interfaces? What about IPv6 autoconfiguration?

Sorted.

The interface was still set to DHCP in the web UI. I didn't notice! I also have the address reserved on my router just in case. Just overlooked it.

DHCP off, set static IP in the web UI and now everything is as expected.

Thank you,

FS
