Remove hot spare?

I recently added a hot spare to my system. I had another disk fail, and when it tried to use the hot spare it failed. I got the other disk working, and now I want to remove the hot spare. I removed it from the GUI and I removed it physically. My pool still shows up degraded. How do I completely remove it, and make the pool happy again?

That's not currently a hot-spare, it's part of your pool and needs to be replaced with a disk that's online... maybe just setting it online will change something.

Strange. I couldn't online it, until I inserted that hot spare drive, then the alert cleared.

So the option you had taken before resulted in the hot-spare disk becoming a permanent pool member and the "replaced disk" was removed.

With that drive out of the system, of course it was showing as offline.

When you have a failure taken over with an hot-spare, you either need to replace the failed disk again and return the hot-spare or you keep the hot-spare as a permanent pool member and add a new one (if you want). You took the second option.
