Reading reporting graphs

Can someone decipher these graphs? Users are complaining about slow performance after migrating from 8.3.2->9.2.1.7. Thanks

I see only interupts using ~30% CPU. I this normal, and how to find the culprit?

I think you may have an interrupt storm going on. I used to get this issue (I might still, just haven't tested as of the latest versions in 9.2.x) when I'd plug or unplug anything from my system USB ports or even DVI port. It would stop after a reboot, and reappear if I plugged or unplugged something. I've learned to deal with it on my home NAS, so never tried to really track it down. There are some posts here if you search for IRQ storm or interrupt storm. It generally uses 100% of a single core in my experience.

You definitely have a storm going on. My guess is it's related to your desktop grade parts being used as a server. But only you can isolate that down.

In any case, good luck. That system isn't exactly what we would call "FreeNAS recommended".

Like SkyMonkey, I had an interrupt storm issue on a previous system that I tracked down to USB activity. I solved it by disabling USB3 support. I'm not sure if it'd still be an issue on my current hardware and FreeNAS version.
