Hi,
I'm pretty new to both TrueNAS and FreeBSD so be patient ;)
I've just installed TrueNAS-13.0-U3.1 with rclone included (so it seems) which is version 1.57.0-DEV; I'm trying to configure an smb remote with
Code:
rclone config

but as it come the step where I have to choose the storage backend, as you can see, SMB/CIFS is missing.

That is really weird to me since the Rclone site states differently Rclone SMB support

I'm doing something wrong? maybe I need to install rclone in a Jail...
Thank you for your help and let me know if some other details are needed.

Regards

F

I think I've found the answer: from Rclone changelog I can see that support for SMB/CIFS backend was added just with version 1.60.0 so I guess I have to wait for an upgrade of TrueNAS or start "playing" with Jails.

TrueNAS has the older `v1.56.1` even in Bluefin.

I was hoping to have an easy way of backing up Windows machines without installing OpenSSH and rsync and potentially Cygwin, but that's currently not possible.

EDIT: Not sure why this is here, but `ssh.exe` is in `C:\Windows\System32\OpenSSH\ssh.exe` on my machine. Maybe it's natively installed now?

At the end I’ve installed the current version of rclone (with smb backend) in a Jail and it works pretty good.

Yes, I think from w8.1 an ssh client is integrated in Windows.
