RAID rebuild in new FreeNAS machine

Hello,

I have an old qnap NAS with raid 5. I want to build a new NAS with FreeNAS.
Is it possible to use the hard drive from the old nas in FreeNAS and have the data recovered?
Or I need to get new hard drives and copy the data from the old.

You have to copy the Data somewhere else.
Make a Pool in FreeNAS and copy it back.
Ehen you use your old drives the HDDs will be wiped
