As the title says, at least some Supermicro X11 boards finally received an updated BIOS.

It's late, so I'll try to email Supermicro asking for a changelog tomorrow. The big item is probably going to be Xeon E3 v6 support.

Hello people,

Just installed this update on my X11SSM-F and here are some comments. Keep in mind I run linux instead of BSD, so YMMV.
The item 28 (Expose USB Configuration setup page) mentions "Legacy OS support", but apparently it means non-UEFI OSs instead of ones without an XHCI driver. Anyhow it seems like the defaults are set up for maximum compatibility, so probably not very useful.
They FINALLY enabled SATA hot-plug support, I don't see mentioned on the changelog and I think that is quite important.
A nice addition for anyone who runs VMs is "X2APIC Opt Out", no exactly sure on the details but it is supposed to help with VM performance and it was disabled by default.
The option for diabling SGX was removed (well, maybe they actually removed SGX support but that seems unlikely), not very happy with it as I already have enough intel botnet on my system.

Also, in an unrelated note, has anyone figured out what is "Port X Spin Up Device" supposed to do? I wanted to use PUIS on my hard drives and I figured that option was related but I can't get it to do anything, PUIS enabled or not.

I totally agree. Most motherboards don't have this feature or do not mention on their websites this capability (even not Supermicro for this board...). Really nice 2 know. Thanks

Apparently another update has been released, 2.0a. Not sure what the changes are, most likely relatively minor bugfixes and/or microcode updates. Anyone feeling like asking supermicro for a changelog or installing it themselves to check for anything interesting?
Oh, on an unrelated note the product page now mentions DDR4-2400 support. Maybe it has always supported it and the description was only updated now, but I built my system with DDR4-2133 as I thought any higher could not be compatible and the memory speeds are rather lacking...
