Presenting FreeNAS volume to VMware ESXi6 server

I am new to FreeNAS. I have installed successfully version 9.3 and am trying to configure the pool/volume so that it can be used by my VMware ESXi6 hypervisor server as a DataStore. Thusfar, I've created the pool, setup the dataset and have created a share (\mnt\pool1\nfs-share). I must be missing something because when I try to setup the volume in my ESXi6 server, it does not connect to it.
