I have installed a fresh 32 bit version of Freenas. I've tried on both 9.2.1.9 and 9.2.0. Both show "No entry has been found" in the available plugins section. The repo I'm using is http://www.freenas.org/downloads/plugins/9/x32/pbi-meta/pbi-repo.rpo

I've done a bunch of google searching and tried all fixes that I could find. I've tried putting my router ip network settings global configuration Name Server 1, 8.8.8.8 in Name Server 2, 8.8.4.4 in Name Server 3. Nothing helped.

I've tried creating the plex plugin manually but can't start it.

I've had a 64 bit system up and running for year, so I'm not exactly a newbie. I'm looking for some help here.

Thanks anyone who can help!

Jim

Why would you willingly install and run a version that's over 2 years old?

The last 32 bit version is 9.2.1.9 from Nov 18 2014. Is there a more recent version that will run on 32 bit that I'm unaware of?

I guess that's just what I'm familiar with and I've used it on 32 bit hardware in the past. Do you have something you would suggest that would support plex?

Do you really have 32 bit only hardware? That's pretty rare for the last 12 years to have anything 32 bit only...

If that's true, you would be better suited with snagging up a Linux distro and installing it on your hardware. You don't need freenas for Plex.

I'm trying to use an old Dell Dimension 3100. From the research I've done, it looks like 32-Bit. I think it's about 8 years old. I was hoping to build this project with just spare parts I had laying around without having to buy anything.

I suppose I could go Linux. I was planning on having this be a headless server so I just figured FreeNas would be easiest since that's what I use for my main server. I guess I'll start playing with Linux. Would you suggest Ubuntu?

1gb RAM and you want to run an OS that needs 8gb and Plex....

You can most certainly use it headless on Linux. Look at openmediavault

Thanks for the input. I was able to get Ubuntu up on it before I checked back here. I'll see if it works for my use and if I have issues I'll try switching over to Openmediavault. After a bit of reading, OMV doesn't seem like it's as user friendly setting up of Plex. We'll see.

I also have a buddy that suggested Centos. I suppose that's an option too.
