Plexserver don't show files

Hi i did just install my plexmedia server and i have set premonitions for my "media" dataset. in the jail i did
"Vol1/media" as sours and "/media" as target. i have the share set up and it works and i did put some files in it. but then i go in to my plex server and i add the folders to the library it will just not sync. so i can't see the files.

I relly love to get i working plz help me!

the foldes are being migrated from "Vol1/media" to "/media"
i did create "Vol1/media/movie" and then i go into the plex media server and go to add a folder i find "/media/movie" but file still don't "sync" i relly need help.

It sounds like you mounted your dataset correctly in the jail as the movie folder is there. I'm not sure what you mean by "sync", if it's mounted the files exist in both places because they are refrencing the same dataset. No "syncing" needs to happen.

Check the ownership/permissions of the files. 'ls -l /media/movie'
The plex user (UID 972) needs to be able to read the files. Also you may need to tell plex to scan for file, but I don't know the specifics of how plex works.

thnx but still no luck :(
i don't have a UID 972. i have permisson set up so "other" can read/Write/Execute in /mnt/vol1/media.

.... okej now i did use ftp and a ftp client and i alsow did put a folder (2011 - Infected) in /media.. got to plex an added /media/2011 - Infected
and now it's abel to add the on folder cald "2011 - Infected" and the song in it but nothing else under. and if i use the ftp and go to /media evry folder except "2011 - Infected" is emty :(

hmm :/ now i restardet my freenas to se if it may fix the problem but now the plex server is down i it woot come back up i will try a re install

okej after a re install i still can se the folders under /media bu the content of folders like /media/movies don't show up in plex but if i add a folder from my pc to the folder /mnt/vol1/media/.... then add the folder /media/.... in plex i seems to find the contend so maby i use the wrong user in permisson for /mnt/vol1/media/ but then agin i have it set up so "other" can read/Write/Execute in /mnt/vol1/media.

Okej now im 100% the /mnt/vol1/media/ folders get to /media but the content don't show up in plex :(

okej so now i restated the server agin and i alsow did add evry singel folder under /mnt/vol1/media/ to the jail and then wen't and put one file in evry folder and it woks for now... but the only thing to not work seems to be tv shows it will not populate in plex

lol, stop restarting your server, it doesn't change the ownership/permission of files, asks just wastes a lot of time. if you really need to kill plex you can stop+start the plex jail.

please show the ownership/permissions of the files in your dataset.
