Planned NAS Hardware: Comments Welcome

I am looking to use an HP Z400 Work Stations with the following specs' circa 2011.
The costs will be aprox $600 Cdn/$ 440 US ready to load FreeNas

Primary is to back-up files from 5 computers secondary to serve media; photos, audio and video.
Network is Cat 6 through a TP-link 16 port un-managed switch.

Storage Hard Drive: To be Mirrored
2 x 2 TB WD Red or Seagate NAS plus 2 USB thumb drives
Can handle 4 - 2TB SATA HD's

Probably not going to work. Nic is supported but not great, no need for video card, controller needs to support non raid hba mode.

You can get a much better system with a dell t20 or lenovo ts140.
