Note: I am aware that FTP is inherently insecure. I am planning to use this share to move files to and from vintage computers connected to my internal network; in this application the insecurity is a feature, not a bug. This TrueNAS box is not exposed to the internet and I am aware of the risks involved.
I've followed the FTP setup guide to the letter on my TrueNAS Core 13.0 U4 box. I get authentication errors with both the newly created FTP user and even anonymous login. For whatever reason root does work, but this is obviously not ideal. Any insights into what might be going wrong here? Relevant screens below:
