Hi,

Using FreeNAS-9.10-STABLE-201606270534 (dd17351)

I'm relatively new to FreeNAS and having trouble enabling permissions on the Data set for domain users.

The below shows the volumes set up "Data_Store" is an old volume I'm keeping there inactive for the time being. "data_store_2" is the active volume. There is a data set inside that volume called "repository" I want to write files to here although I get the screenshot below.
1. Below Screenshot showing Volumes

2. Error shown when trying to write to "repository"

I'm assuming its something to do with linking my active directory or permissions in some other way.
3. The below are my network settings.

I have the windows CIFS set up successfully as I can view the folder on the domain
4. Showing CIFS set up

Please help me conclude how I go about enabling write permissions for users on my domain.

You missed the most important screenshot: what are the permissions on the dataset you are sharing?

Generally, I'd recommend creating a FreeNAS specific user on your domain, and set that user as the owner of the dataset. Then, set your Domain Admins group (or some Storage Admins group) as the group for the dataset. If set that way, either the FreeNAS user or any domain admin can set the permissions for the folders.

To set the permissions, all you have to do is log in as the FreeNAS user (or mount the FreeNAS share using the FreeNAS user), or one of the domain admins, and you can use the standard Windows permissions interface to change permissions.
