I have a dataset /mnt/Media

I can write to the Media dataset without problems, but not to any of the folders that I have made. This is the same issue across all 4 Windows machines, as well as one OSX machine.

I can make new folders in the dataset, and I can write to those new folders, but I cannot write to the folders that are already set up....

I think I see the issue. The owner of the Dataset is set to Nobody, but the owner of the folders in question is set to root. The issue now is how to change the ownership of that folder.

Nothing in there that I didn't already try. I changed the owner of the entire Dataset to "nobody", and I still couldn't access the folder.

Now, I just deleted that volume, made a new dataset, and re-wrote all of that data to it. The owner is set to "nobody". Now, I can map and write to the new folder just fine, but only on my office PC. I cannot even map that share on my media PC (same LAN). I am prompted for the network credentials. When I enter root and the root password (as I would to log into the NAS GUI itself) I get access denied....

Well, what fixed the issue was to map the drive using file explorer using \\freenas\media instead of \\192.168.1.2\media. I have no idea why that worked....
