If i understand you correctly you need to change the umask setting in transmission config file. This can be done within the jail of tha plugin. Serch this forum for umask or visit the transsmissonbt forum. I would like to see the umask setting as a UI setting!

Hmm. I was hopping that was not the anwser I was going to get.
There was an article a0about something similar that said to change the mask to 0 that that did not do what I wanted so I just assumed that was not what I was looking for, hence why I asked the question here.

Maybe it is the mask thing and I've set it wrong or maybe thereis something different I have to do, I'm not sure.

well you can hope it's not the answer but 'umask' is the setting you seem to be asking about. a value of 0 sets the permission level of downloaded files to 777 (world read/writeable).

the setting is in /usr/pbi/transmission-amd64/etc/transmission/home/settings.json
