Hello,

We use a Freenas on our Network with SMB protocol.

We have 2 Mac os, Mac-A and Mac-B :
  • Mac-A put a pdf file in 1 folder
  • Mac-B try to download it from the server
And we have a really strange behaviour.

From Mac-A, we have no prob to put the pdf on the server, and to read it on it.

From Mac-B, instead of the PDF, we have a binary file named "2"

When Mac-B, disconnect from the Nas, and connect again, no prob anymore, the pdf are there.

Have you got any idea about how to resolve this ?

PS : The pdf is generated from Quartz X press on Mac-A, and it seems that we have this problem only with pdf generated from Quartz X press.

Unfortunately not.
This issue appear when trying to save a file directly from QuarkExpress thought.
Might be something funny with their writing process.

Any thoughts on the subject ?

Samba 4.3 greatly improves Apple support (new vfs object - 'vfs_fruit'). If you have a box to experiment with, it might be worthwhile to look at the 9.10 nightlies (which I believe contain samba 4.3).
