Can i expand a vdev with same size drive ?

You cannot expand a vdev. To grow your pool, you have to add more vdevs or replace a vdev disks with larger disks

During the import of the pool thru a new hba, do you lose data ?
No, but why are you asking this? (I'm not being sarcastic it just seems like you don't understand something)

Can the amount of drives per vdev be whatever i want ? as long as everythings raid z2 ?

IF a controller takes a crap, guess what, you lose that array and alll the data on the drives connected to it.
What makes you think that? If a controller dies, you lose access to the pool until you replace the controller.

No.

No. You really should read some of the introductory material about how FreeNAS and ZFS work.

A RAIDZ2 vdev can consist of at least 4, but should not be more than 12 (and ideally not more than 10), disks.

That is not how ZFS works. I have had a controller fail. The pool data was unaffected. It was a simple matter of replacing the controller and access to my data was restored. If you are manually moving data around without properly using ZFS, you stand a much greater chance of data loss.

Data is recorded on disk. If you are using an IT mode HBA, it does not manipulate the data on disk and your data will be fine. If you are using a hardware RAID controller or one of the SATA controllers that manipulates your data instead of giving FreeNAS full, and direct access to the drive, then you can run into problems where the data becomes corrupted.
