Hi everybody,
I need to do a fresh installation of the OS but I'm a little concerned about losing my zfs pool or being unable to import it on the new config. I thought it will be safer to copy the data on other disk before installing the OS, but I haven't enough space available. I don't mind about losing the backup's datasets, but the main dataset contained in the pool isn't a backup, it is source data and if lost I' am not going to be able to replace them.
As far as I know it's only needed to do the fresh installation of the OS on the usb drive (mirrored) and then import the existing pool (that I guess, it's still available on the untouched disks) from the GUI but I read some thread and I found out that some users got in troubles with this kind of activities, because the old pool didn't show up etc...
I read that it might be necessary to export the old pool and then import it via CLI to do it properly.

I run my little freenas box on a HP Microserver Gen. 8 with 16 GB of ECC ram.

Is there anybody who could give me some advices?
Thank you.
