Hey everyone - i may be looking at this from the wrong angle, but hopefully this discussion thread will guide me (us) down the right path.
SO... the setup...
I have a DDWRT router, with IPVanish/OpenVPN configured at the router.
I have policy base routing configured so that only specified IP Address traffic is sent through the VPN tunnel.
I have a static address configured for my transmission plugin, this address, is configured to utilize the VPN.
---
I recently came across a feature available from other VPN services, "internet kill switch", that when your IP address changes, your network connection stops - so that if the VPN service goes down, you do not auto reconnect through your ISP exposing you.
All of this said, i'm interested in a method of monitoring Transmissions 'public' ip address so that if it changes, the plugin stops.
Anyone have thoughts on how to accomplish this ?
Thanks for the input.
