Hi,
I installed FreeNAS-11.3-U5 on an host (ESXI 6.7 build 13006603) and the open-vm-tools 10.3.0 build 8931395 is installed in the VM. I would like to update the open-vm-tools but I don't know how.

By SSH, i tried pkg install open-vm-tools-nox11 but I got "Unable to update repository local". Error updating repositories.

Somebody can help me please?
Thanks

This isn't something that you're expected to be able to do. FreeNAS is an appliance and the individual components are generally not upgradeable individually. You may be able to bludgeon it with a hammer until it works, but you'll then have a unicorn that is unlike anyone else's.

Is there some particular issue that you are trying to address, or are you just OCD about a vSphere informational message that the VMware Tools is out of date?

Aren't open-vm-tools flagged as "not managed by ESXi" and that is that?
