First of all, let me be clear that a n00b would call me a n00b. This is my first post and I have 0 linux or scripting experience, so talk to me like I'm a 3 year old child. I appreciate your tolerance of me in advance.

I have set up the FreeNas 8.3.0 and everything has been working fine. Recently, my Windows iSCSI drive linked to FreeNas is reporting an error. I try to use the error checking and it says it is unable to as Windows can not access the drive. Log into FreeNas GUI and see a yellow alert indicator reading "One or more devices has experienced an unrecoverable error. An attempt was made to correct the error. Applications are unaffected. Determine if the device needs to be replaced, and clear the errors using 'zpool clear' or replace the device with 'zpool replace'."

I have tried my best to search the forums and the rest of the web for a solution that a Windows sheltered user would understand. I even RTFM.

I have run a ZFS Scrub (which I had not set up before) and I do not have a backup (lesson learned)

I have seen this asked for in other posts so here is a zpool status:

[root@freenas ~]# zpool status -v
pool: volume1
state: ONLINE
status: One or more devices has experienced an unrecoverable error. An
attempt was made to correct the error. Applications are unaffected.
action: Determine if the device needs to be replaced, and clear the errors
using 'zpool clear' or replace the device with 'zpool replace'.

If anyone has any further guidance for me, I would be very much appreciative.

Well I was able to resolve my problem. First I cleared the zpool status to make sure the problem was not still happening. Windows still was unable to access the drive. I ran a ChkDsk and it fixed whatever problems I still had. I am pretty sure I can access all my data without any loss. My very next step will be to backup so this will not be as big of a issue if it happens again.
