Not allowing me to replace cache disk

Hi, I had a cache disk show up as unavail so I replaced the hardware, went into Freenas and tried to swap and it says :

Error: Disk replacement failed: "cannot replace 381322576533272691 with gptid/97c37760-f4e4-11e6-8da9-d4ae5278c8c8: device is in use as a cache,

This is a brand new SSD, do I have to wipe it first..?

Simply remove / delete the cache device, then add the replacement as a cache device.

The zpool replace is for data disks, so that it can trigger a re-silver of the data. Remember
cache devices have copies of data, not the original data. So after you remove the old broken
one, and add the new cache device, it will automatically re-populate from the original data
over time, as it's requested / used.
