no network connection after physically moving the system

Hi,

I set up a FreeNAS some month ago in my office. It was easy going and worked well. Now I wanted to move the NAS to a room in the basement. I shut it down, removed all cabling and placed everything in the designated place. After plugging in all cables back again I booted the system, but it is not establishing a network connection.
I double checked the network cable, but a PC can be operated with it.
I am open to any suggestion!

Hook up a monitor and keyboard to see what new IP address it got from DHCP. Then set it to a known static IP address so it won't change.

Tank you wblock, but I failed on that. The only thing I see on the attached Monitor is a black screen (after GRUB is done)...
Any more suggestions are greatly apreciated.

If you are getting just a black screen and you are sure your video output is working (i.e. screen is operational and have no reason to believe the video output on your board is dead) then you might have a failed boot drive.

Truth be told, 24/7 systems/servers just wait until they are shutdown, then often surface problems that have been lingering and waiting for an opportunity.

What are you booting from? What is your setup? Just pulling at straws since I have no idea what hardware or setup you are running.
