newer simpler video card

Hello and thanks for FreeNAS.
Years ago, I took one of my kids old gaming computers and turned it into a NAS. It's been working great.
It still has his old gaming graphics card in there, GEForce 8800 or something like that, which I am guessing is creating more heat and definitely taking up more space than necessary.
I was thinking I could take it out and put some very old simple graphics card in there to make things cooler and more roomy, but I really try not to break things that are working well.
If I put a different card in there, will it just work (esp if on the hardware list), or will need to reinstall the OS or find drivers?
I couldn't find a youtube video to answer this, but did try.

I expect it'll just work. All that card is used for is console anyway.
