newbie with Disk question

Hello
ich habe installed FreeNAS to Test and Play with on a older Laptop. One Disk, 2 GB RAM, 100MB/LAN, IPv4 and IPv6.
Basicly it is set up and running.
But i dont have a Storange - If i go to storage i can't find out how to add it

maybe somedoy could give me a tip where to read about it

Not sure if this is the issue, but when setting up freenas myself for the first time it was made clear to me that I needed essentially at least two volumes in order to get it set up correctly.

One volume for freenas and at least one for your storage. In my case, I used a 2gb flash drive for freeness (and set my bios to boot from the flash drive) and then it can see my other HDs for storage.

It sounded like in your setup you just have one drive you are using which will be eaten up by the freenas OS. Any volume used by freenas is not Available for storage.

and a 2gb USB Flash is enough?!

would i have been reading more carefully the installation steps - it is written!
where FreeNas is installed you can't use it for data!

The installation instructions say that 2gb is enough, and so far its been fine. I have had some issues with my setup though but I feel are unrelated to the size of my flash drive.
